I Hate John Sterling
I hate him. There's nothing else I can say. He is just the worst announcer in the history of baseball. Even worse than Dizzy Dean who has said stuff like, "And he slud into third," and the like.
For all of you who are wondering who this John guy is, John's the guy who goes, "The Yankees win! Theeeeeeeeeeeeee Yankees win!!"
Yeah, that's him.
So you know how he makes these nicknames for like, everything? "It is high, it is far, it is GONE! The Giambino!" "An A-bomb, by A-rod!"
Well, he's got a new one:
"It is high, it is far, it is GONE! The BamTino!"
Oh gosh....John, shut your mouth already.

uh, why are you listening to yankees games?
i wasnt, i was listening to The Fan, 660 am, and in the 20-20, they had the clip from tino's hr...gosh i hate john sterling
The Bamtino is a nickname that goes back to Tino Martinez's first tour of duty with the Yankees. Sterling (who is one of the more knowledgable and passionate announcers in MLB today) has been using it for a solid decade.
thats funny cuz ive never heard him say that ever. but either way, he should just shut up.
John Sterling is one of the best baseball announcers in the history of baseball on radio. More ppl know his name then anyother announcer. how many ppl know the names of the mets anouncers?
you're right, absolutely NO ONE knows bob murphy...john sterling is DEFINATELY NOT one of the best announcers in baseball. sand it doesnt matter how well know he is. its a matter of is he a good annnouncer? and the answer is a resounding NO.

Whoa! Everyone should just STOP picking on Tonny! He makes a valid point! Even if you are a Yankees fan (which I do not wish upon any of you), how annoying is he? He just HAS to make up those bothersome pet names for the players? Come ON! I have some personal pet names for the men on that team, but I doubt that blogger would allow me to post them without shutting my blog down, so I'll stop right here.
Tonny, are you going to tell us next that Yankee Stadium is the worst ballpark in all of the majors and that Shea Stadium is a palace?
uh, no dani, im not. i hate yankee stadium so much, but i do give it the respect it deserves because it is a place where baseball is played and it has to be given respect.
If you listened to Sterling make the call on Tino's home runs, he says "The Fan Tino". Other times he'd say the "BamTino"...
