New Mets Ballpark

It's finally here. Well, sort of. It should be ready for Opening Day 2009, which is quite far away, but still, the plans and all. Looks nice. I am down with the fact that the new upper deck will be equivalent to sitting in Shea's loge. That's cool.

But why does it have to look like Ebbets Field to be NY-ish...? I mean, I guess I get it, but like, so what? So Freddy here remembers going to Ebbets. Woopy. I remember going to Shea.

Whatever. It's a new stadium, it's all good.

And for those of you who are saying, why is the city paying for this?? Well, I'll have y'all know that the Mets are paying for the entire thing. Asright, entire thing. It'll create 6 g's partime jobs. And of course make loads for the city.

Whazzup now?

About time they replaced that dump called shea... Does this mean that both the new shea and the new yankee stadiums will both be opening in the same year? I think that would be unrecedented to have 2 new ballparks open in one city in the same year.

So you think the METS will be paying for the new stadium? WE will be paying for it with higher ticket and parking prices, and fewer games on free TV! Not to mention the premium on parking that there will be for the next three years while they build the thing! Also - it will not be called SHEA anymore. Can you see the Mets playing at, say, EXXONMOBIL Stadium?? Oy!

sil...yeah, 3 years, its annoying, but what can you do, you know?

dani...yeah, that would be crazy.

abba...whatever abba, i meant the team as opposed to the city. and besides, you say we'll payf or it, but in the end, the money will be in the hands of the mets, not the city, hence the mets will be paying for it. but besides, i dont think im going to many baseball games in the next few years anyway....

no no, not exxonmobl, that was stink. it has to be something cool like ESPN Stadium or something...hehe.
