Trek to Sfarim Sale
So I'm trying out a bigger font, see how it goes. I don't normally like bigger font--stuff takes up more space when it's in a bigger font. Sarah B, this is for you!!
So I was in my room, checking email, vechulei, vechulei, and around 1245, DMD and Cowen come in and DMD asks, "Revaya?" So Cowen goes, "Watch, he'll say no." So I surprise them and say yes. I just need to finish stuff. So I finish, we go, we walk into Revaya, and it's packed--no where to sit. :-( So Cowen and DMD decide to go to Grandma's. I'm like, no I can't go to either of those places after coming here. So we walked out, and I'm like, I'm going to the Sfarim Sale. It's 1300, and I see people coming out with the bright blue J & R bags that J & R donated to them (the owner of J & R is a frum Jew, BH), so I figure it's open, even though the schedule said 1400 - 2200 pm. Whatever, so I go, and really it is closed. Alrighty then...so I go back to Revaya and to get some Mac & Cheese to go. Man, their Mac & Cheese is DA BOMB! I recommend it to EVERYBODY. So anyway, I get back to my room, and I see, only 1/2 of the aluminum tin thing is full. I'm like what the hell?! I paid $5.15 for a WHOLE tin thing of Mac & Cheese, not 1/2! Retard...whatever, it was amazing stuff, anyway, but it would've been better had I had MORE amazing stuff, then LESS, y'know?
Anyway, so then I went to the library to pass the time til the Sfarim Sale, it was only 1310 (for those of you who don't realize, I'm using 24-hr clock, therefore 1 pm = 1300, 2 = 1400, vechulei). So I go. Again, checking email, the blog, others, doing those blogthings I posted before, vechu' (yeah, I like that phrase--btw, it means etc). Then I'm talking to Ariela, doing NCSY stuff--our new regional learning project (if you're an NCSYer, and, for some odd reason which you probably don't even know, are reading this, email me for more info if you wish), other stuff, and then its 1630, and I figure, aight, it is time. So I go. Wow, it felt really good to be there. I love it. All those Jews, all those sfarim and CD's for very very cheap. I wouldn't be surprised if they're the best prices in the country during the time the Sfarim Sale runs (this year til March 2). I mean, dude, CD's at $12.99. Where else do you see that? if there is somewhere that has prices lower than that, please tell me, so I could tell YU to lower their prices (haha, like they would listen to me...hahahahahaha!). But like, wow, I love it. All those people, and stuff. Pretty much every time I go, I see someone I know--and seeing YU guys (notice I didn't say girls), doesn't count. Stern girls count, cuz they're all the way down in the heart of this, this city of which I will not pronounce its name because I hate it so. So a lot of the ones I know don't come up here to often (you know who you are...), so when I see them, it's like, niice. So yeah, so this time, I saw Dvasha and Nachum from Silver Spring, and her parents, Dr and Mrs Allen from Fairfield, that was cool. Nachum showed me a really funny book, something about being yeshivish. I have to get it, it looks really funny. And then....uh yeah that's it. Wait...no, I saw Naftali, too. That was cool. He counts, because he graduated, and he lives on the other side of the Heights. I think that's pretty much it. I said Shalom Aleichem (whazzup?) to R Goldvicht. That was cool. And I saw Leib, but he works there, so like I said, that doesn't count. So in the end, I got a pocket Tehilim, Mesilas Yesharim (about time...), and 2 CD's--Lipa Shmeltzer, and Mendy Wald's Samei'ach. It was soooo clutch too, Samei'ach was only $4.99! I love those CD's! Wow, amazing. But that's the only CD worth buying from their $4.99 selection. No, wait, they have Mendy Wald's Ko'ach. Ok fine, those 2. I'll get Ko'ach next time I go. Samei'ach has a Pihah Pasicha which is sooo nice OMG. Adina, it's the one I was singing when you and Meir were cleaning up from the tisch Fri Night at UMASS (I should have helped cleaned up Adina, I'm sorry, I was just so tired). So yeah, The Trek was awesome. And I even chopped (Yiddish for got. Sort of...Can I chopp a ride with you? Can I get a ride with you?) a Mincha, BH. And then looked around some more. And then I saw Mrs Allen, and she gave me her son Eitan's number, so I can call him about KBY. And then I was checking out, and I saw Ari G behind one of the counters, so I was hoping to go to him. But I didn't. :-( And next to him was a girl whose g-parents live in Fairfield. I don't even know her first name, and she comes at least 3 times a year; for the past at least 10 years. Oh well.
So when I left, I had spent almost 2 hrs there. It was great. And I spent less than I thought. I added the prices of my stuff on the calculator on my phone, and it came out to about $47. So I'm like, that's close to my $50 limit (because, uh, I only have $50 to spend right now. Next week iyH more, and then after my birthday, oh baby). So when I checked out, the total came out to $39 something. I was like, sweet. But we have to pay taxes, so total was like, $42 something. Whatever, I paid less. Maybe I'll get Ko'ach tomorrow.
So that was The Trek. It was a lot of fun. iyH I'll see more people I know there. And iyH people I want to see, like...you thought I was going to tell you, hehe...
I wonder how much space this is going to take up....
I gotta call Shimmy...
